So why do we like Monster Energy drinks better than the others? Well to put it simply, Monster Energy drinks taste good. It’s the only energy drink that doesn’t taste like water dredged from the sewer.

Whether you need to be artificially awake because you’re a truck driver, need to focus for a big exam, or a hard day at work –Monster Energy drinks will keep you awake and alert. It’s like getting an instant pick-me-up and it keeps me awake for a long time. I realize that I should be getting paid to say this but unfortunately I’m not.

Are Monster Energy drinks bad for you?
Does it kill white blood cells and put you at a greater risk of cancer? All energy drinks are bad for you… but they are so good. How long were you eating oreo cookies before the hype of trans-fat came out? Did you die? If you’re reading this, then No you didn’t die.

Stay safe with energy drinks
To be safe combine your energy drinks with a healthy diet and maybe a daily multivitamin with plenty of water and you should be all set. I wouldn’t advise more than more than 4 per day. Be sure to drink water in between monsters. As a side note, you should also brush your teeth afterwards due to all the sugar.

Remember, caffeinate responsibly.

There is no doubt that you will need to be artificially awake to stay awake all night, unless this is something of a regular occurrence like a night shift which will require you to sleep during the daylight hours. Here are 10 ways to keep awake at night…

It’s good for people who have to wake up early. It restores mental alertness, increase body coordination, and increase your flow of thoughts. Drinking coffee and being artificially awake makes me feel good.

Addiction to caffeine really isn’t a bad thing considering all of the positive research behind the drug. It
makes you feel awesome and energized. People often feel more alert and talkative after consuming caffeine. It puts most people in a good, positive mood.

“An estimated 80 percent to 90 percent of Americans report having caffeine on a daily basis.”

Caffeine can be found in many everyday foods such as chocolate, coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks, and in over-the-counter medicines such as aspirin.

Whenever I have a headache, I just drink coffee and feel fine in a few minutes. It’s very interesting that so many pain killer medications like aspirin contain caffeine. Many people who suffer from migraines are prescribed pure caffeine to relieve their symptoms.

Plus according to the Earth Times, drinking coffee also protects you from disease…

“CHICAGO, Jan. 22 Moderate drinking of coffee is being shown to have generally positive and protective effects on the emergence of disease conditions, say U.S. researchers.

Food Technology reports that recent studies of coffee in combination with reviews of research gathered over the past 30 years reveal that consumption improves glucose regulation and lowers the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, among other favorable effects.”

“Scientific evidence now suggests that moderate coffee consumption — 3 to 5 cups a day — may be associated with reduced risks of certain disease conditions… possible cancer-protective properties, possibly due to its naturally occurring and brewing-produced antioxidants”

So being artificially awake doesn’t really seem so bad.

Remember, caffeinate responsibly.

I used to drink Diet Coke at work like crazy, at least one per hour. Our office had an open fridge policy, all the free diet coke I could drink.

With soda, it doesn’t seem like I experienced caffeine crashes like you usually get with coffee. Also it keeps you active because diet coke makes you pee like a race horse every 15 minutes, so you’re always getting up and down.

The only downside is that I acquired a huge kidney stone, had to have surgery to get it out, all of which wasn’t a very great experience. At the time I was living in Los Angeles and due to the dry climate the doctor said that I should cut the diet coke and drink lots and lots of water.

I don’t really think the kidney stone was during to the caffeine, but to the soda itself. I found this study on a website…

“Studies suggest that certain beverages may be associated with an increased risk of developing kidney stones. In one study, kidney stone sufferers who customarily consumed a great deal of cola were much less likely to experience a recurrence when they cut their cola consumption in half.”

So I cut back to 1 or 2 diet cokes a day, and then eventually switched to coffee. Coffee gives you more of a boost anyway, so it didn’t break my heart to give up soda.

You’ve been drinking coffee all day long to stay awake and when you finally stop your head begins to hurt really bad. How do you avoid the headaches caused by caffeine withdrawal? It makes perfect sense, if you about to crash from caffeine then just drink more and you’ll delay your crash by a few hours. Just like to avoid a hangover you should keep drinking alcohol, right? Well, wrong. Here are 3 really simple steps to cure a caffeine crash.

Step 1:
To beat a caffeine crash you must hydrate yourself and start flushing the caffeine out of your system. So the first step is to, you guessed it, drink water, approximately equal to the amount of caffeine that you drank.

Step 2:
Second, eat walnuts, peanut butter, or other high protein foods.

Step 3:
Third, take some pain killers and a nap.

There you have it, 3 steps to cure a caffeine crash. Hopefully you don’t crash and have to follow these steps too often.

Good luck and remember, caffeinate responsibly.

The most common time to feel tired during the workday is felt directly after lunch… especially if you eat Chinese food. No offense if you own a Chinese restaurant, but no matter how many stay awake at work tips I can give you, it is nearly impossible to recover from a Chinese lunch. Otherwise, the best defense against the lunch effect and to stay awake at work is to walk it off.

Take a Walk

If you go for a walk after lunch for 5-10 minutes and get your blood flowing, you’ll have a better chance of feeling ready for action when you get back to the office. Oh and then be sure to grab a cup of coffee.

Eat a High Protein Lunch

Stay away from the carbs, sweets, sugary drinks, and turkey – these will all make you tired. Try eating a light high protein lunch like chicken, cheese, etc. Don’t eat a huge meal because digesting food makes you feel tired. You can compensate for the “light” by eating small snacks like nuts, almonds, pecans, etc throughout the day.

So to sum it all up, eat a light, high protein lunch and walk it off. Don’t eat carbs, candy, sugar based drinks, or turkey and especially DO NOT eat Chinese food for lunch! Then feel free to grab a cup of coffee when you get back to the office. Now you should be able to stay awake at work after lunch.

Caffeine, that magical element in coffee that shakes you up and wakes you up, is present in an even greater amount in a sister beverage known as tea.

We are all busy and a lot of us are overloaded with work. Managing a family and at the same time juggling a packed schedule can prove to be a daunting task. Under such circumstances, a dose of freshly brewed coffee or tea is the best thing that keeps people going.

Coffee and tea can be consumed in different ways in different seasons. During the winter and cooler months, when we wish that everything liquid could pass over our tongues and down our throats, should be warm or perhaps scaling hot. Brewing becomes an affair involving steaming cups of coffee and tea being served with wild abandon, not just for the freshness of the drink, but also for the warmth they provide by the additional caffeine supplied energy. Come summer and the recipe changes. Coffee goes into the blender instead of the coffee pot, where it is joined by ice cubes and other ingredients to make a cool shake. Tea manages to escape the violence of the blender and gently seeps away into ice water.

While previously, both coffee and tea were available in the state that they were grown. There is a choice available today, in the sense, that you can purchase either of them as caffeine free (decaffeinated) products.

Caffeine is good, but for people with sensitive sleep cycles it can be a bit of a bother. There can be a craving for coffee and tea at odd times (like just before going to sleep) and a cup that is not decaffeinated can keep these people awake for a long time. By choosing the decaffeinated option, they can enjoy their coffee and tea more casually.

What remains a constant mystery is that downers made out of alcohol are such great party makers, while the brain sharpens and activity enduring caffeine laced beverages like coffee and tea are more associated with comfort.

Most people will usually stick to either coffee or tea as their caffeine beverage of choice. This distinction can get pretty difficult when you consider that there are plenty of people who will drink coffee at certain times and switch to tea at other times, all within a single day.

There are even some places and cultures where the beverage is chosen, not on the basis of the time of the day, but on the gender of the drinker. When you are over there, you will notice that tea is decidedly a ladies’ drink (much like gin and tonic) while coffee is bit more like cigars and usually men indulge in it.

However, like everything the beverage culture is also undergoing a change and today the choice of beverage is solely dependent on personal preference.

Do you want to feel better, sleep better, and save $1500 or more of your hard-earned cash per year? Then it’s time to wake up and STOP smelling the coffee!

Coffee addiction or, more specifically, the addiction to caffeine found in the coffee, is a true addiction for some people because it has the capability of increasing the body’s tolerance. This means that as your body becomes accustomed to the caffeine levels that you introduce, it will require more caffeine to reach the same level of satisfaction. A caffeine addiction can also cause actual withdrawal symptoms including these:

Increased cravings for coffee throughout the day

Excessive tiredness or lethargy as the caffeine effects wear off

Periods of confusion or an inability to maintain focus

Headaches during periods of withdrawal.

Heavy coffee users also develop an emotional dependency on coffee which results in their actually believing themselves when they say “I can’t wakeup without my coffee.

Other interesting things you won’t hear in coffee advertisements
1. The caffeine in coffee affects our sleep patterns by shortening the stages of sleep that recharge our brains. This, in turn, reduces our mental capacities and ability to think clearly.

2. Caffeine causes an increase in our levels of cortisol, a hormone that triggers cravings for fat and carbohydrates.

3. After the last of the day?s caffeine dose wears off, people often feel fatigued and moderately depressed.

So, if you?ve tried to quit coffee, and you quickly found yourself Jones?n for a cup, you?ve got yourself a coffee habit. Here?s how to kick it?

Brrr, Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

Yep, that?s right. The best way to kick the coffee habit is to do it cold turkey. And it?s not as hard as you think it?s going to be. In fact, it can be as easy as 1-2-3.

1. The night before the new coffee-free you emerges, throw away any coffee you have left and put all of your coffee-making equipment out of sight.

2. When you wake up on the first day of the rest of your coffee-free life, take several deep breaths, stretch, and then start your morning routine minus the coffee-making part. Repeat this phrase to yourself whenever the coffee urge strikes. “I don?t need a cup of coffee right now. Just for today I?m not going to drink any coffee,? and then stick to it. Repeat the process tomorrow, etc.

3. If you have physical symptoms like headache, treat them with your normal pain relievers. These types of symptoms will usually disappear by the third or fourth day of withdrawal.

It takes 30 days to develop a habit. It took you thirty days to develop your coffee habit, and it?s going to take 30 days to replace it. The good news is that by the fifth day, or so, you won?t be consciously fighting the “I want a cup of coffee? urge. Your subconscious will have taken over by then and the battle against addiction will take place mostly without you even being aware.
